How to Search the Ramsey County Jail Roster
Use the search bar at the top of this page to find anyone currently held at the Ramsey County Adult Detention Center in Saint Paul. You can search by full legal name, booking number, or charge. Names appear as last, first, middle - if your first search returns nothing, try the last name only.
Each record shows the person's booking number, intake date and time, charge description, offense level (F = Felony, G = Gross Misdemeanor, M = Misdemeanor), and bail amount if one has been set.
The roster reflects physical custody only. It does not include past bookings or records for people who have already been released.
Why Someone May Not Appear Yet
A new arrest will not show up immediately. The individual must complete full booking first - fingerprinting, photography, and medical screening - which can take one to several hours depending on how busy intake is at the time.
Check back in a few hours, or call (651) 266-9350 to confirm custody status directly.
Reading the Bail and Hold Fields
If you see $0.00 bail but the person remains in custody, they likely have a hold from another agency - a probation violation, an out-of-county warrant, or an A&D order - that prevents release regardless of local bail. Ramsey County books individuals on behalf of multiple law enforcement agencies, including Saint Paul PD, the Minnesota State Patrol, Metro Transit Police, and several suburban departments including Maplewood, Roseville, White Bear Lake, Shoreview, and New Brighton PD. The arresting agency affects which holds may be attached to the booking record.
A Rule 8 or Omnibus notation refers to an upcoming felony hearing type, not a release date.
How to Post Bail for a Ramsey County Inmate
Once you confirm the bail amount on the roster above, call (651) 266-9350 to verify the exact figure and whether any holds are attached before going anywhere. Holds from other agencies, probation violations, or pretrial monitoring conditions can prevent release even after local bail is satisfied.
The Ramsey County Adult Detention Center accepts bail payments at the lobby window at 425 Grove St, St. Paul, MN 55101, seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Bring the full amount in cash - the facility accepts cash only and will not process partial payments or card transactions.
Processing after bail is posted typically takes 30 to 60 minutes, though it may run longer during shift changes. Release conditions set by a judge - such as no-contact orders, GPS monitoring, or a mandatory mental health assessment - take effect immediately upon release. Ask staff what conditions apply when you call to confirm.
If a pretrial assessment was ordered, contact Justice Point at (651) 661-7431. Justice Point handles pretrial services in Ramsey County and can clarify monitoring requirements before a person is released.

Using a Bail Bondsman
