How the Stone County Inmate Search Works
The roster at the top of this page is the Stone County inmate search tool and is synced directly from official booking data. Select “Current Inmates” to review people currently in custody or “48 Hour Release” to see people released from the facility during the previous 48 hours.
Roster cards may show the inmate’s mugshot, full name, booking number, booking date and time, listed charges, bond amount, and a profile link. The release view also displays the release date. Users can search by name, select “Search” or “Show All,” change the chronological order, and use numbered page controls.

The roster is not a court docket or court-record search. It displays booking and custody information managed through the Stone County Sheriff’s Office, while Missouri Case.net provides public court-case information maintained through the court system.
Posting Bond at Stone County Jail
The court determines the bond amount, bond type, and release conditions. Before traveling to the jail or courthouse or attempting an after-hours payment, call Stone County Jail at 417-357-6116. Confirm the person’s full name, current custody status, case number, bond amount, accepted bond type, payment method, and posting location.
Surety bonds are subject to court approval. A surety must qualify under applicable Missouri Supreme Court rules, and Missouri bail bond agents must hold the applicable license issued through the Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance.
A duty judge must be available during evenings, weekends, and holidays to evaluate verified applications for release through qualified sureties or personal recognizance.
Release conditions are specific to the case and are set by the court. Rule 33 requires the person to appear when ordered, comply with court orders and processes, avoid new offenses, refrain from interfering with victims or witnesses, and follow all court-imposed conditions.
Sending Money to an Inmate
SmartDeposit is the online service linked by the Stone County Sheriff’s Office for adding money to an inmate’s commissary account. Call the jail at 417-357-6116 before depositing money to confirm the required account information and current deposit requirements. Commissary deposits are separate from bond payments.
Inmate Communication

Regular visitation does not require an advance appointment. Special personal visits for visitors coming from outside Missouri must be scheduled in advance.

Confirmed visitor rules include:
- Each inmate may receive one 30-minute visit per week.
- Each inmate may have two visitors or one adult accompanied by two minor children.
- Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
- Former inmates must wait 180 days, or six months, after release before visiting.
