About the Okmulgee County Jail

The Okmulgee County Criminal Justice Authority (OCCJA) operates the Okmulgee County Jail at 315 W. 8th Street in Okmulgee, OK, and the Moore Detention Center at 111 S. Alabama Avenue. Sending Money to an Inmate

OCCJA uses TIGER Commissary for inmate account deposits. Family and friends can add funds to an inmate account for approved commissary purchases.

Stamps, envelopes, paper, and pencils can be purchased through commissary. Eligible indigent inmates may qualify for certain writing supplies without charge.

Commissary deposits are separate from CIDNET phone or messaging accounts and from bond payments.

Inmate Communication

OCCJA uses CIDNET / Encartele for inmate telephone service. Inmates cannot receive incoming calls and may place outgoing collect or prepaid calls. Verified legal counsel may have unrecorded direct telephone access.

CIDNET Digital Mail provides electronic messaging and digital photo transmission. Family and friends can register and fund applicable communication accounts through CIDNET's online or mobile service.

Standard written letters and postcards must be composed with black ink or pencil and enclosed in plain white envelopes.

Prohibited mail includes altered or defaced postcards, paint, crayons, markers, stickers, watermarks, stains, biohazards, lipstick, perfume, glitter, embossed or musical cards, oversized items, colored envelopes, photo collages, nudity, weapons, gang references, and cash.

Books and magazines must be sent directly by an approved commercial publisher or distributor or purchased through the facility's commissary system. Legal mail is opened and inspected for physical contraband in the inmate's presence without inspection of the legal text.

Visitation at Okmulgee County Jail

Visitor rules include:

• The visitation request form cannot be delivered by the inmate. Falsification or omissions can result in a 90-day reapplication suspension.
• Visitors under 18 must have written parental or legal guardian consent and a signature on the visitation request form.
• Wrap-around skirts, tube tops, tank tops, crop tops, halter tops, spaghetti-strap tops, sleeveless shirts, transparent or mesh clothing, low-cut or cut-out clothing, and midriff-exposing shirts are prohibited.
• Closed-toe shoes are required, and face masks are prohibited.
• The visitor questionnaire screens for prior arrest records, active probation or parole status, prior family incarceration, and simultaneous visitation at other correctional facilities.

Okmulgee County Court Information

The District Court of Okmulgee County is the state trial court of general jurisdiction for the county. Okmulgee County is part of Oklahoma's 24th District Court Judicial District, along with Creek and Okfuskee Counties.
