How the Lake County Inmate Search Works
The roster at the top of this page is the Lake County inmate search tool for current active bookings. Use the live roster to check whether someone is currently in custody at Lake County Jail and to review the available booking details.
The Lake County jail roster may show the inmate's name, arrest or booking date and time, arresting agency, custody status, charges, bail, and currently housed-at status. Some records may not display charges or arrest dates, and charge information can change as booking, court, or hold information is updated. Before acting on charges, custody status, bail, case numbers, or release information, confirm the details with Lake County Jail at (218) 834-8385.
The Lake County inmate search on this page is not the court docket and is not a court records search. Jail roster information identifies current custody and booking data, while court records are handled through Minnesota Judicial Branch court-record systems identified for Lake County, including Minnesota Court Records Online and P-MACS public view.
Posting Bail at Lake County Jail
Bail and release conditions are set by the court, not by Lake County Jail. Before coming to the facility, call Lake County Jail at (218) 834-8385 to confirm the current bail amount, case number, release eligibility, and any court-ordered conditions.
Cash bail can be posted at Lake County Jail, 613 3rd Avenue, Two Harbors, MN 55616, at any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Cash is accepted at the facility. Personal checks, credit cards, and debit cards are strictly prohibited for bail.
Online bail payment is not accepted for Lake County Jail bail. The Sheriff's Office online payment portal is restricted to civil and administrative fees, and cards are not accepted for bail. Bail may also be posted through a bonds person of choice, with listings available in inmate cell blocks and public-access telephone directories.
Common court release conditions may include pretrial supervision, no-contact orders, electronic monitoring with GPS or location tracking, sobriety monitoring, treatment requirements, check-ins, and geographic restrictions. These conditions depend on the court order and the individual case.
Sending Money to an Inmate
Lake County Jail accepts cash, money orders, and cashier's checks for inmate funds. Mailed deposits must include the sender's name and a valid return address on the envelope, and money orders sent by mail are inspected for physical or written contraband.
Envelopes may not have stickers, adhesives, or physical modifications. If a mailed item does not include a complete identifiable return name and address, Lake County Jail records indicate that it may be placed in the inmate's personal property locker until release.
Inmates may use available funds to purchase canteen items such as pop, candy, snacks, personal hygiene items, and $10 phone cards through manual jail order forms. Lake County Jail lists a $20 administrative booking fee. Because account rules and deductions can affect available funds, call (218) 834-8385 before sending money or bringing funds to the facility.
Inmate Communication
Lake County Jail uses Reliance Telephone for inmate phone services. Family and friends can set up phone access online through the Reliance Telephone portal to fund Inmate Wallet accounts or Prepaid Collect options. Voice calls are listed at $0.40 per minute through a $10 Reliance phone card.
Remote video calling is available through the Reliance Connect app. Remote video is listed at $0.25 per minute and is available daily from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Outbound texting is available through the Inmate Wallet All Options account.
Direct inmate voicemail is incoming voicemail only, and the voicemail access number is (218) 216-7460. For account problems, eligibility questions, or current communication restrictions, call Lake County Jail at (218) 834-8385.
Mail for inmates should be sent to Lake County Jail, 613 Third Avenue, Two Harbors, MN 55616. Only postmarked USPS mail is accepted, and mail is inspected for physical and written contraband. Legal mail is permitted daily. Lake County Jail records also list postage-free inmate mail on Tuesdays and Thursdays, limited to one letter per day.
Visitation at Lake County Jail
Lake County Jail provides both on-site visitation and remote video visitation. Confirm the inmate's visitation eligibility before planning a visit because court, transport, discipline, or classification issues may affect access.
Visitor rules can change based on facility operations and inmate classification. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID. Minors may need a parent or legal guardian present. Follow jail dress code and conduct rules. Call (218) 834-8385 before visiting to confirm the current schedule and whether the inmate is cleared to receive visitors.

Lake County Court Information
Lake County District Court is part of the Sixth Judicial District of Minnesota. The court location is the Historic Lake County Courthouse in Two Harbors, and the Interim Court Administrator is Kathy McFarlane. Lake County court jurisdiction includes civil, criminal, family, probate, and traffic matters.
The court handles arraignments, bail hearings, pretrial hearings, trials, sentencing, probation matters, and other case proceedings. A hearing notice controls the date, time, location, and format of a court appearance, so users should rely on official court notice information for appearance details.
Lake County court-record information is connected to Minnesota Court Records Online and P-MACS public view. These systems may not show every case or document. Certain domestic abuse, harassment, juvenile, civil commitment, pending criminal, and restricted records may be limited or unavailable through remote public access. Jail roster data and court-record data are separate systems, so custody, bail, release, and charge information should be confirmed before legal or financial action.
