Posting Bond at Marshall County Jail
Before traveling to a payment location, confirm the inmate’s full name, current custody status, case number, bond amount, bond type, payment location, and accepted payment method with the jail.
Cash Bonds
Cash bonds must be paid at the Marshall County Circuit Clerk’s Office Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding official holidays.
The full bond amount must be paid in cash. Take the official payment receipt to the Sheriff’s Office to begin the release process. A separate $35 bond transmittal fee must then be paid to the Sheriff’s Office in exact cash.
Personal and business checks are not accepted for the bond transmittal fee.
Property Bonds
Property bonds are processed through the Sheriff’s Office Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Approved equity in property located within Marshall County may be used.
- All property owners must appear with valid identification.
- The Sheriff’s Office verifies that the owners are not responsible for another active bond.
- Felony property bonds require at least two property owners.
- The property’s net equity must be reviewed and approved.
- A $35 bond transmittal fee must be paid in cash after the documents are signed.
Sending Money to an Inmate
Marshall County Jail uses separate services for commissary deposits and telephone funds. These deposits are separate from bond payments.
JailATM handles commissary funds. Deposits may be made through JailATM online or through the commissary kiosk in the main lobby of the Sheriff’s Office.
Inmate Sales handles telephone funds. Money may be added online through Inmate Sales, by calling 877-998-5678, or through the visitor-lobby kiosk on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
