About the Meeker County Jail
The Meeker County Jail is operated by the Meeker County Sheriff's Office and serves as the primary detention facility for Meeker County, Minnesota. Sheriff Brian Cruze leads the agency, and Jail Administrator Jodi Bean oversees daily jail operations, including intake, housing, visitation, and inmate programs. According to the 2025 Meeker County Sheriff's Office Activity Report, the jail houses individuals awaiting court as well as those held on misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor matters, with an average daily population of 26 in 2025.
The facility also boards individuals for other counties and for the Minnesota Department of Corrections. The current roster shows holds for multiple agencies, including the Meeker County Sheriff's Office, Litchfield Police Department, and the Department of Corrections - Work Release program.

How the Meeker County Inmate Search Works
The roster at the top of this page is the Meeker County inmate search tool. It is synced directly from official booking data, so there is no need to check a separate county database. You can search by inmate name, arrest date, or listed charge, and the list filters live as you type. Click View Details on any record to expand the full charge list and facility contact information.
Meeker County's public roster displays standard fields including mugshot, name and address, age, sex, race, arrest date and time, the agency the inmate is held for, and charges. The Held For field may show more than one agency depending on who booked or is holding the inmate - current roster entries include the Meeker County Sheriff's Office, Litchfield Police Department, and the Department of Corrections - Work Release. Some fields that are not displayed as separate public columns include booking number, bail or bond amount, case number, court date, housing unit, and release date and time.
It's important to know that the Meeker County jail roster and the court docket are not the same thing. The roster shows the current custody snapshot maintained by the Meeker County Sheriff's Office. Court case records, including filings, hearings, and judgments, are maintained separately through Minnesota Court Records Online (MCRO), the state's official court records portal.
Posting Bail at Meeker County Jail
Bail amounts for inmates held at the Meeker County Jail are set by a judge at the Meeker County District Court, not by the jail. The amount depends on the charges, criminal history, and any conditions ordered in the case. Before heading to the jail to post bail, call 320-693-5415 to confirm the inmate is still in custody, verify the current bail amount, and ask whether any non-monetary release conditions apply.
Under Minnesota General Rules of Practice Rule 702, bond is filed with the court administrator during business hours and with the custodian of the jail outside of business hours. During business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.), bond can be filed at the Meeker County District Court / Court Administrator's office at 325 Sibley Avenue N., Litchfield, MN 55355. Outside of business hours, bond is filed at the jail.
Under Minnesota law, bail may be set to be satisfied in cash or by sureties. When money bail is accepted, it is deposited with the court administrator. Common non-monetary conditions in Minnesota cases include:
-
No-contact orders under Minnesota Statute 629.75, which allows a domestic abuse no contact order (DANCO) to be issued as a pretrial or postconviction order
-
Conditional release orders managed by Meeker County Probation, which can include electronic home monitoring and chemical testing
-
Conditions specific to DWI, domestic abuse, or crimes-against-persons cases
Surety bonds can also be used. Minnesota district courts accept appearance-only bail bonds from SCAO-approved bail bond agents, agencies, and sureties. Bail bond premiums may be paid by cash, money order, check, wire transfer, EFT, debit card, prepaid cash card, or credit card through the bond agent.
Release cannot occur until all attached conditions are satisfied, even after payment is made. When released, the individual is picked up at the jail entrance.

Remote Hearings and Public Calendar
The court handles arraignments, bail hearings, pretrial conferences, plea hearings, trials, and sentencing for offenses charged in Meeker County. The Minnesota Judicial Branch confirms that remote hearings are conducted using telephone conference calls and Zoom, with access through a Meeting ID (and Meeting Password when required). For ITV (interactive television) participation, contact the local court directly.
The hearing notice issued by the court is the controlling document for the date, time, and format of any hearing. Members of the public who wish to observe a remote district court hearing should contact the court for access information.
The court publishes a public calendar as a searchable PDF, released each business day at 7:00 a.m. and updated hourly throughout the day. Meeker County also provides a Weekly Public Court Calendar and the Eighth District General Calendar. The calendar lists only scheduled courtroom hearings and does not replace the hearing notice issued in a specific case.
