The Jasper County Detention Center is a county jail and detention center in Carthage, Missouri. Randee Kaiser serves as Jasper County sheriff.

Posting Bond at Jasper County Jail

Sending Money to an Inmate

Inmate account deposits may be made through JailATM.com or by calling JailATM at 1-866-933-6386. Deposits are also available through the “Jail-Commissary” option on the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office website.

A lobby kiosk that accepts cash or credit cards is located inside the Jasper County Detention Center at 405 East 5th Street in Carthage.

Money orders may be mailed to the inmate at the detention center’s mailing address and must be labeled “commissary.” The inmate must sign a form granting Jasper County power of attorney to endorse the money order for deposit.

Inmates must have sufficient funds in their trust accounts to make commissary purchases. Purchases are subject to available stock and disciplinary restrictions.

Commissary deposits are separate from City Tele Coin phone accounts and GovPay.Net bond payments.

Inmate Communication

City Tele Coin provides inmate telephone service at the Jasper County Detention Center. Family members and friends may create an account through City Tele Coin or call 1-318-746-1114 for account assistance.

Inmates may place outgoing calls lasting up to 15 minutes. Inmate telephone calls are recorded and monitored by detention staff.

CIDnet provides video calls, inmate email, text messaging, and picture-mail services. Pictures submitted through CIDnet are reviewed by detention staff and generally require approximately 48 to 72 hours for approval.

Video visitation is available through on-site lobby terminals or remotely using CIDnet.

Jasper County Court Information

The 29th Judicial Circuit Court of Missouri handles criminal cases in Jasper County. Circuit Divisions have general jurisdiction over felony cases, while Associate Divisions handle misdemeanors, preliminary felony proceedings, and traffic tickets.

Kimberly Clinton serves as Circuit Clerk, and Erik T. Theis serves as Court Administrator. The court maintains offices in Carthage and Joplin.

In-custody defendants appear for routine proceedings through closed-circuit video links between the Jasper County Detention Center and courtrooms in Carthage and Joplin. Court divisions also use Cisco Webex video conferencing and telephone call-in bridges. The official hearing notice, summons, docket entry, or court order controls the date, time, location, division, and appearance format.

Missouri Case.net provides public records from participating municipal, associate, circuit, and appellate courts. Searches may be conducted by case number, party or litigant name, attorney name, or filing-date range.
